World Cruise 2026 & Gustavia, St Barthélemy
We start our 180 day World Cruise on the Oceania Vista, and our first stop is Gustavia, St Barthélemy.
We signed up for this world cruise in 2024, about 1.5 years ago. Can't believe the day is finally here! We are on the Oceania Vista, their new two year old ship. This is our favorite cruise line.
This cruise goes from Miami on Jan 6 and returns to Miami on Jul 6 after literally traversing the globe.
We leave our house at 5a on Jan 5 to catch a flight to Atlanta, then down to Miami.
Oceania put us up overnight at the beautiful vintage Biltmore in Miami.
The next day, Jan 6, we got a ride to the cruise terminal and ... got on the ship!
Mitzi's teeth are very sore because of the clear aligners she is wearing. Hence her sad face at not being able to eat the crust on the bread, her first meal on the ship.

A little video tour of our room.
We had dinner on the aft deck as we sailed out of Miami.
We sailed for 2 full days then arrived in Gustavia, St. Barts in the morning of Jan 9. I brought my marine binoculars and was able to get a better view of an amazing yacht anchored across the bay.
We walked through the port area in Gustavia and did some shopping. Mitzi bought a "tarte au citron (lemon tart)". I'm not eating carbs since mid November to improve metabolic health, hence my expression of fear. Mitzi enjoyed it thoroughly.

We hiked up the mountain to an old lighthouse and battery, and enjoyed the amazing view.

Mitzi made this video for Benson, he's always saying "10 out of 6!"
We had dinner at Jaques, the onboard French restaurant. It's so nice to be back on Oceania where the food and service is truly remarkable.
One of our favorite items is the bar en croûte (Sea Bass in a Crust). It's baked in a bread crust that is shaped like a fish, and it incredibly tender and delicate.

And we're off!
