The Algarve Coast
We spend the day with Johnny Tours (João) experiencing and seeing the Algarve coast.
Today was a big tour day. After so many rest days we are energized and ready to go see the Algarve coast.
But not before eating breakfast!
We met up with our tour guide Johnny. His name in Portuguese is João, which non Portuguese speakers can't say, so I can see why he goes by Johnny. But I was able to call him by his real name :)
He was a great tour guide, we enjoyed spending the day with him.
We visited:
- Algar Seco (natural cave with 2 windows)
- Carvoeiro Village
- Ferragudo Viewpoint
- Ponta da Piedade cliffs
- Lunch at Restaurante António
João took us to Antonio's for a late lunch. He said I should order in Portuguese. I got lots of praise haha. They said my pronunciation was really good.
It was a great meal! We also talked a lot about Bitcoin so that was fun.
If you look closely at the beach photo you'll see the older women with the cap on her head is letting the breeze flow freely. I didn't notice this until I was editing the photos. That made us laugh!
Our our way back to the hotel we stopped for a few minutes to see all these stork nests. These are large birds. Their nests are large and elaborate.
We stopped by a sewing shop so Mitzi could buy some thread. She's run out of white. Success!
It was a great day, we are so glad we explored the Algarve coast.
