Georgia to Nashville: To see Spencer and Laura!
A campout in Georgia, turns into a trip to Nashville to see Spencer and Laura!
After Jacksonville, Damon booked us a few nights at a 5 star RV Resort in Ellijay, Georgia. It's called Talona Ridge. Beautiful doesn't do it justice. It's on a mountain top. All of the pads are fully equipped with electricity, water, sewer, a fire pit, a picnic table, and Adirondack chairs. They additionally have beautiful laundry facilities, private showers, bbq pavilions, a workout facility, a pool, and a beautiful commons lodge. We practically had the place to ourselves.
One day we spent our time in the commons lodge. I sewed on a quilt using my new Singer! Damon programed. We had a wonderful peaceful time by a giant fire place.
One night we drove into town and had dinner at a delicious Mexican restaurant. I may have been a little tired by the end of the meal.
The town also had great shopping!
Because of Laura's 1st trimester pregnancy sickness, we missed connecting with them on our November trip. Since then, we have been brainstorming options to get together.
On our last morning in Georgia, a great plan entered our minds! Maybe they would be willing to fly down to Nashville for the weekend. "What do you think about hopping on a plane today?"
They said, "Yes!" and so we started driving! It was a beautiful 4 hour drive through many ice lined canyons.
We arrived a few hours before their flight so we checked into the hotel and got ready to meet up!
An Uber dropped them off at Edley's BBQ! It was so great to see them! Laura is nearly 18 weeks pregnant and feeling much better!
Nashville Hot Chicken, Brisket, and BBQ :)
Spencer had been fasting for a few days. He was so excited to taste this meal!
More food and more great conversations!
After dinner, we loaded them up in the motor home and drove back to the hotel.
Behind the hotel is another icicle cliff.
The next morning we drove to Tupelo Honey Cafe for Brunch. It was so delicious!
Biscuits, Waffles, Fried Chicken, BLT, and Potatoes in multiple varieties! Yum!
I loved chatting with Laura in the back of the motorhome. Spencer and Damon drove us to Downtown Nashville!
Our first stop was the Country Music Hall of Fame. Soooooo many cool things to look at and learn about!
I found my Favorites :)
We hopped aboard the Taylor Swift Bus and Spencer Recorded a Song. We had so much fun watching him sing. It sounded Amazing!
Every angle was entertaining :)
The last stop was the Rotunda. It is a beautiful space with a plaque dedicated to each Hall of Fame Member.
We walked down to Broadway to see the Ryman Auditorium!
So many Colorful Sights and Sounds.
We always have so much fun hanging out with Spencer and Laura!
They even stopped on the sidewalk and danced to the lively music :)
It's so interesting walking the streets and checking out Iconic Landmarks.
That evening we headed down to the White Limozeen. A colorful feminine themed lounge inspired by Dolly Parton.
Beautiful Lighting, Glasses, and Food Trays.
More great conversations.
The smiles on our faces tell it all. It's such a great time of life for us. We are enjoying our children so much!
The next morning before we dropped them off at the airport we stopped by a coffee shop for a pastry and some warmth.
What a wonderful 36 hours with these two! Thanks so much for meeting us in Nashville!
