Rio Grande, Brasil
Our last stop in Brasil we see a bit of Rio Grande.
Our last stop in Brasil, sad. We've loved the last 2 weeks here!
We waited in line for the bus to take us into town.
Saw a tree growing out of a chimney on the way!
Beautiful cobblestone. A huge cathedral, this used to be a wealthy happening place.

I like these confessionals. Since I have no sins I have nothing to confess! The whole concept of a confessional I just find funny.
Superman woman!

Mitzi bought some new shoes. We walked the old harbour a bit.
This old government building was interesting.
Cool door!

We found a little pastry shop with an old cash register, passion fruit juice, and the most delicious pasteis de quiejo (cheese pastry). It's such a simple food, they made it fresh. Some basic cheese in a deep fried dough. That's it. Mitzi said it was the most delicious thing she eaten in Brasil. Yes it is that good.
I used to eat these at bus stops in 1986. Taking that first bite today brought those memories back!
Mitzi found a childs gaucho hat to take home.

Another pastry shop had one coxinha. A little sad this is my last coxinha for who knows how long. I have loved eating these again.
As we waited for the bus back to the ship, this indigenous family did a little singing and dancing for us.

Traditional gaucho attire.
Mitzi is wearning my readers, such a cute grandma!
The wonderful Oceania Vista, we love this ship.
We ate dinner at Jaques the french restaurant. All dressed up for dinner, heading down the hallway from our room.
