New Year in Phoenix

We flew to Phoenix to spend the days leading up to New Year's with the families there. Damon and Macall's family flew down to join us. And the next day Heather and Ashleigh flew down too.

The weather was beautiful while we were there. Eating outdoors was very nice.

It was so fun to see the grandchildren, all so beautiful and precious.

In the morning we enjoyed breakfast at a local coffee shop, enjoying the sun and good company.

In the evening Heather and Ashleigh arrived and were greeted with warm hugs.

We enjoyed the hotel's outdoors visiting while the children played.

The next day we went to a trampoline park.

Mitzi and Macall are very athletic! They still got it!

For lunch we went to Venezias and had some pizza.

That night some of went to the theater and watched the movie Wicked.

The next day we went to the Phoenix zoo.

Followed by What-A-Burger.

I wanted to try out the self-driving Waymo cars. After a few minutes I felt safe and sat back and enjoyed the ride. With no driver. Pretty cool!

That night was New Year's Eve. Taylor and Baylie hosted at their house.

We had a nice dinner and enjoyed visiting.

Lots of fun and good company!

The following night it was back to just the Phoenix families. We decided to go to Toca Madera, a very nice mexican restaurant.

It was such a fun dining experience, we had a grand time.

I ordered the tomahawk steak, they prepared it table side but first lit the whole thing on fire! About the best steak I've ever had, and all the steak lovers at the table enjoyed it too.

This was the most expensive dining experience Mitzi and I have ever done, yikes! Totally worth it :)

This New Year's, being the 10 year anniversary of Tiffany's death, was a bit daunting.

Mitzi was a great support and I'm deeply appreciative of her facilitating so much of this visit.

I'm grateful I got to spend this New Year's Eve with all my children. It was a special time to be together.
