Halloween at the Carters
A short trip to St. Louis to celebrate Halloween with Sydney, Logan, and Benson.
We made a quick trip to St. Louis to celebrate Halloween with the Carters. We drove up and drove back, about a 12 hour drive each way.
Benson was so excited to see Grandma Mitzi.
Sydney did a great job decorating her house for the party her and Logan would be hosting with their friends from the dental school and community.
Sydney and Logan made us a nice dinner of navajo tacos and steak!
Lately they've been frying in beef tallow (so much healthier and tastier than seed oils!).
"Getting in our steps" as Benson says.
The party was super fun, the food excellent, and we enjoyed meeting the students and spouses that Logan and Sydney have become friends with.
Root beer floats! Sydney made home-made root beer for the party and that combined with the Blue Bell vanilla ice cream was amazing.
The long-arm machine is taken down and moved out the basement window. The only way to get those long poles out. Can't believe it was 4 years ago when Mitzi and Logan used that window to get the long-arm into the basement!
We went out to dinner on our last night to peel. Benson needed ice cream quickly so that was his starter :) Logan and I shared these perfect chicken wings.
Benson entertained us most of the meal. And we went to Clementine's Ice Cream for dessert.
It was a fun trip. That is likely the last time Mitzi and I will be going to St. Louis. The Carter's are moving to Mobile Alabama. It's been 7 years of visiting them in Missouri as they have done dental school and Orthodontic school. We've enjoyed these visits over the years, and look forward to seeing them in Alabama.
