Birthday Dinner at Gusto
A delightful birthday dinner at Michelin star Gusto!
Mitzi planned a birthday dinner for me at Gusto, the Michelin restaurant at the Conrad Algarve.
We dined at Gusto last summer. Chef Heinz Beck was on location and we got a picture with him. He's the short one :) His work is incredible, some of the best dining we've ever had.
Mitzi was so cute and pretty, had to get this in the lobby as we made our way to the restaurant.
We opted for the nine course menu. As the pictures will show, everything is a work of art, the best quality, and such a variety.
The pictures of the food are so beautiful they each get their own space in this post.
Before the service started they brought out this:
Blue fin Tuna with beetroot and Asian crème fraiche
Marinated amberjack with aubergine and almonds
Seafood salad with Mediterranean flavours and kaffir lime
Blue Lobster with variation of bell peppers
Fagottelli Carbonara
Sole with parsley roots and freeze-dried citrus
Lamb saddle with broccoli, goat cheese cream and hibiscus
Golden Apple, Granny Smith, basil & bergamot ice cream
Wild berries, shortcrust pastry, blackberry sorbet, lemon and curd and merengue
Then because it was my birthday they surprised us with this treat
Along with a small cyrstal of their house made kombucha. This was the finest smoothest kombucha ever. So different and better than what you get a grocery store!
The whole experience was delightful. I feel so grateful to have Mitzi in my life to share these experiences with. She is a great partner and so fun to experience these special moments with.
